The Center Celebrates Quadruple Triumph in the Meetings and Events Industry

Baltimore, MD – October 27, 2023 – The Baltimore Convention Center is delighted to announce its recent success in winning four prestigious awards in the realm of meetings, events, and exhibitions for the year 2023. These accolades underscore the Center's unwavering commitment to excellence, outstanding service, contribution to Baltimore's tourism industry, and dedication to being a prime destination for conventions and gatherings.

The Center took the following titles:

• 2023 Facilities & Destinations Prime Site Award Winner

• IAVM Venue of Excellence Award Winner

• Exhibitor Magazine’s Center of Excellence Award Winner

• Northstar Stella Awards – Gold Medal Winner

Throughout the past year, the venue has emerged as a powerhouse of economic growth by bringing in 104 events that drew in over 400,000 visitors from around the world. The ripple effect of these events extended beyond the convention walls, with a surge in demand for accommodations leading to the occupancy of 215,000 hotel rooms. The organization has also amplified its partnerships, corporate social responsibility initiatives, relationship with the surrounding community, and efforts to give back to the region making these winnings possible.

What sets the Center apart is the venue’s corporate social responsibility initiatives including sustainability programs that are set in place allowing clients to connect with Baltimore. The organization offers a Diversion by Donation program helping patrons divert waste left by events and into the hands of community organizations allowing us to divert over 149 tons of waste and resources to the community in 2022 alone. The organization has also installed technology including two indoor garden grow towers, two beehives, low-flow water restrictor faucets, and more. The venue is rolling out an exciting building intelligence upgrade called SkySpark allowing the team to monitor the use of utilities throughout the building to a new level of specificity, aiding clients in reporting on their event-specific utility usage

The organization's public safety team works hand in hand with Visit Baltimore and city agencies to ensure state-of-the-art safety systems are in place both at the Center and throughout the city.

These key features along with the Center's large range in space and full-service dedicated staff are what made winning these national elite awards possible.
