Orion Kimberlin started with a real passion for event planning at Shepherd University by starting a club for fun student events like Paintball and Humans vs. Zombies. Then in 2015, he started programming events and programs for the entire student body with Program Board and worked as a Resident Assistant planning events and watching over residents’ safety.
Since then, he has maintained a passion for events, going on to intern at Washington County Parks and Recreation, and then working for two years at the City of Hagerstown Parks and Recreation. There he planned and coordinated the City’s flagship events such as City Park Lighting, Harvest Hoedown, Outdoor Movies at City Park, and many partnership events that would see thousands in attendance. Taking great pride in maintaining the event's image, as well as bringing new ideas and activities to the events for participants to enjoy and create new memories to look back on. From there he began work at Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, using his facility management experience for the Recreation Centers serving the public.
Now he is back in event logistics as a Convention Services Manager, and ready to see the world open back up to events, conferences, and conventions!
Orion is a graduate of Shepherd University with a B.S. in Sports Recreation and Leisure focused in Event Management. As well as a B.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications from Hood College in 2019 to complement his event management portfolio.
